Comess Group

Comess Group is a food service business with over 400 establishments retributed between several franchises across the globe. Comess Group was founded in 1988 in Spain and attracts 18 million customers in its outlets each year. The Group is recognised as Spain's most organised restaurant company. 

Furthermore, in 2017, the company signed an agreement with Celiac Association Federation of Spain for the development of gluten-free products suitable for consumption by people with celiac disease. Since 2018, Lizarran has included gluten-free products in its menu.

The enterprise is also part of the Association for the Progress of Management, following which, the company excels in management due to the continuous training of its managers.

With a total of 131 employees, Comess Group achieves an annual turnover of around € 13.2 million. 

It’s first restaurant chain, Lizarran, was recently recognised as one of the best restaurant franchises in Europe after being ranked as one of the Top 100 Global Franchises by Franchise Direct. Comess Group was also awarded The best brand by the Executive Magazine.

Comess Group operates the following restaurant franchises:

• Lizarran:  a chain of more than 300 restaurants present in 14 countries across 4 continents.
• Don G: there are 17 Don G establishments in Spain which offer typical Spanish fast food. The firm started operating in 2010. 
• Cantina Mariachi: a chain of Mexican restaurants operating in Spain since 1993
• Pieology: The chain operates 145 restaurants in the US and Mexico which offer pizza and salad. 
• Pomodoro: 117 brand outlets in Spain and Portugal.
• Levadura Madre: there are currently 71 stores across Spain

In 2021, the Group announced that it aims to open 20 more Pomodoro restaurants in Portugal in the next 5 years. 

Furthermore, in the same year, the company signed a deal with petrol station operator, AVIA, which will allow it to open new restaurants in many of AVIA’s sites.

Furthermore, Comess Group aims to promote sustainability by carrying out the business activities in a responsible way.

With regards to the society, the Group collaborates with SERES Foundation and commits itself together with the Foundation to improve society through responsible actions.
