Royal Canadian Cheddar
€ Core price
Royal Canadian Cheddar is distinctively strong vintage cheddar with extra bite made at the award-winning Balderson creamery in Winchester, Ontario, which has been producing cheese for more than 100 years.
Made by master cheesemaker Rejean Galipeau it is selectively aged for up to three years, making it one of the strongest cheddars available in the UK. Uniquely, it is made using a process called thermalisation rather than pasteurisation, which protects the good bacteria and maintains more complex savoury flavours. It is renowned for its pleasantly sharp, savoury flavour and delicate flinty texture.
Its striking black packaging with the iconic red maple leaf gives it strong shelf appeal.
It is available as a pre-pack in Asda and in delis in Morrisons and Sainsbur
